Mrs. Shelly Ann Jenkins (NaNa), of Atmore, died Sept. 1, 2013.
Jenkins was born March 1, 1956 to the late Matthew and Emma Lou Jenkins in Castleberry; they also preceded her in death. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Faith Church of God in Christ. She later united with Second Chance Miracle Holiness Church.
She was united with the late Raymond Brazzell for 21 years and he preceded her in death.
One child, Arelisa Jenkins; two sisters, Mary Davis and Emma Moore; two brothers, Matthew Jenkins Jr. and Bobby Ray Jenkins and two grandchildren, Zopporia Dees and Annlisa Jenkins preceded her in death.
Those left to cherish her memories are her precious and devoted children, Vivian D. Brazzell Hemingway of Jersey City, N.J., Sharon (Curtis) Adams, Regina (Booker T) Williams and Raymond Jenkins; a devoted grandson, Desha Jenkins, whom she reared as her own; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Diane (Donald) Washington, Barbara Ann (Herbert) Jackson, both of Atmore; one brother in law, Clifton (Tic) Archie of Union Springs; one special sister in law, Mary Brazzell Manning of Atmore; two special friends, Apostle Mary America and Eugene McCullum of Atmore; one Aunt, Mattie Fagins, of Atmore; a devoted friend, Shantel Rivers; a special friend and caregiver, Dawn (Nikki) Bowens and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 at Empowerment Tabernacle Christian Center with Apostle Mary America officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Mayberry Funeral Home of Atmore will be in charge of arrangements.
