Snider blocked three shots in the win, and Emmons dished out four assists.

Coach David Walker said his team shot well and that was a key in winning the game. The Lady Cougars hit 50 percent of their two-point shots and 33 percent from 3-point distance. However, Walker said the team still had too many turnovers.

EA takes on Morengo Academy at 3:30 p.m. Friday, before taking on Wilcox Academy later that evening as part of a tournament in Camden. It will be the Lady Cougars’ final game before Christmas break, Walker said.

The boys’ team also toppled Sparta, 53-44.
