Leo Nathaniel Luker Jr., 67, of Atmore, passed away Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at his residence.
He was a second generation owner/operator of Luker & Sons. He was born March 30, 1946, in Atmore, to the late Leo N. and Luverne Gates Luker Sr. He was a pastor for 32 years and was the pastor of Poarch Baptist Church for 21 years.
His parents and a brother, Steve Luker, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Steadham Luker; two sons, Leo (Barbara) Luker III, and Jonathan (Jennifer) Luker; one daughter, Ashley (Derrek) Wilson, all of Atmore; one sister, Rheada (Jimmy) Dukes of Loxley; and four grandchildren, Lauren Wilson, Blake Luker, Dillian Crutchfield and Noah Luker.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dexter Truesdell and the Rev. Jimmy Dukes officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday evening, Jan. 11, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc., was in charge of all arrangements.
