During the drive, the Devils punted on fourth-and-22 from their own 37-yard-line, but the Rams muffed the punt and ECHS recovered on the Faith 32-yard-line. Gaetyn Thames eventually scored with a 1-yard touchdown run to make it 8-6 with 4.4 seconds left in the first quarter.

ECHS trailed 15-6 at halftime and were never able to mount a real offensive threat against the Rams the rest of the way.

“Faith Academy was far more physical than we were,” ECHS coach Royce Young said. “We thought that they might run right at us, and that’s exactly what they did. We weren’t able to make their physical effort.”
