Lady Devils improve to 3-1

The Escambia County High School Lady Devils improved their record to 3-1 last week, earning wins over Monroe County and Baldwin County but falling to Clarke County by a single point.
ECHS won at Baldwin County on Saturday, by a 54-42 score. The Lady Devils also won against visiting Monroe County on Friday night, with a 43-30 victory.
The Lady Devils made a valiant effort after falling behind 17-2 early, but came up short in a 58-57 loss against visiting Clarke County on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
ECHS was behind 21-9 after one quarter, and down 28-20 at halftime. The Lady Devils cut the lead to 40-35 after three quarters.
Although ECHS never took the lead, the Lady Devils were able to tie the game several times in the fourth quarter.
Nicole Johnson led ECHS with 18 points. John’nes Robinson added 13.
In the win at Baldwin County, Johnson led the team in scoring with 35 points. Jade Adams had seven points, and Jaquanda Webster finished with five points and six rebounds.
Against Monroe County, Johnson led the team with a double-double of 14 points and 14 rebounds. Webster added 11 points. Christin Simpkins had a team-high five steals.
