The Wind Creek “Good to Go” food truck will be on site for the event and proceeds from food sales will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Florida. Since opening in 1984, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Florida has served as a home-away-from-home and source of respite and resources for more than 20,000 adults and children.
Originally built as a six-bedroom facility, the facility underwent two expansions before opening a brand new 26-bedroom House at 5200 Bayou Blvd. in Pensacola, Fla., on Aug. 23, 2010.
“We couldn’t be more pleased to partner with Wind Creek for Throw Down,” said Judy Burns, executive director of RMHC of NW Florida. “At the Ronald McDonald House, we’re about taking care of our families at a time when they desperately need comfort. That comfort often comes in the form of great food, good friends and activities that take your mind off your troubles. We thank Wind Creek for exemplifying that hospitality and generosity.”
Thompson Square and Ronnie Milsap in concert will follow the BBQ competition. Thompson Square is a country music duo composed of husband and wife, Keifer and Shawna Thompson. Their hits include “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not” and “If I Didn’t Have You.”
Country music legend and pianist, Ronnie Milsap, topped the charts with numerous hits including “It Was Almost Like a Song” and “Smokey Mountain Rain.” Milsap is arguably recognized as one of country music’s most popular and influential performers of the 1970s and 1980s.
