Escambia Academy running back Kris Brown scored six touchdowns in the Cougars’ 47-8 victory over Lancaster Academy in Smyrna, Tenn., last night.
Brown scored on runs of 8, 60 (2), 45, 35, 70 and 65 on the night.
EA head football coach Hugh Fountain said he told his players that this should be a game that gets some good things rolling.
Brown scored his first touchdown in the opening quarter; added his second and third on a 60-yard rush and a 45-yard punt return, respectively, in the second 12 minutes; but he wasn’t done in the second as he added a 35-yarder just before halftime.
Brown also had a 70-yard touchdown return and an interception return for a score for 65 yards.
Teammate Trey Turner had two touchdowns on the night. He scored on runs of 5 and 54 yards.
The Cougars also did well on the extra point attempts, something that was lacking last week.
EA went 2-for-2 in the point after tries.
The Cougars will hit the road again next week as they visit Greenville, where EA plays Ft. Dale.
