Stormy weather continues to hit Atmore

A line of showers and storms will move slowly across Escambia County tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

NOAA issued a hazardous weather outlook for the county at around 5 p.m.

The showers and storms are in front of a cold front approaching from the west. There is a great potential for severe storm development between midnight and into the early morning hours. The storms will affect areas east of Interstate 65, including the northwest Florida panhandle.

There will be some 1-2 inches of rainfall tonight with higher amounts possibly occurring, according to NOAA.
