County schools get high grades

New rankings released Wednesday gave five local schools within Escambia County’s system high marks.
Niche.com, an online group, ranks a number of public interest items such as schools, places to live and work and the like.
Escambia County Schools earned a “B-” ranking, placing it at 80th in the state.
Brewton City Schools was placed 77th in the state out of 100 and earned a “B-“ when reviewed on its academics, administration and policies, extracurricular activities, health and safety of its students and a number of other factors.
Individually, Brewton Elementary was given an “A-;” Brewton Middle, “B+;” and T.R. Miller, “B-.”
Individual schools were given the following ratings:
• W.S. Neal Elementary: B+
• WSN Middle: B
• WSN High: C+
• Flomaton Elementary: B+
• Flomaton High: A
• Pollard-McCall Jr. High: B+
• Escambia County High: C+
• EC Middle: B-
• A.C. Moore Elementary: B
• Huxford Elementary: B+
• Rachel Patterson Elementary: B-
