Escambia County lost three games at a softball tournament in Andalusia last weekend.
The Lady Blue Devils fell to tournament champion Straughn, 15-0; Flomaton, 11-1; and Pleasant Home, 10-0.
ECHS softball coach Brian McGuire said the tournament allowed the younger girls a chance to gain some game-time experience. Seven starters were out due to conflicts.
“We had good playing time for the younger girls,” McGuire said. “The scores don’t indicate how the tournament went. There were some positives.”
McGuire said some positives included making good plays, getting good hits and stepping up their game.
“Along with the positives, it’s still a learning process for us,” he said. “We’re trying to correct the mistakes, which will help make us be a better ball team.”
The Lady Blue Devils visit Baldwin County tomorrow. First pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m.
