ECHS to play in 7-on-7
The 7-on-7 football tournament Tuesday at Flomaton will give coaches a chance to evaluate the Blue Devils’ offense and defense, Escambia County football coach Royce Young said.
The Blue Devils will be playing in the round-robin type tournament next Tues., July 26, at FHS. Kick off is slated for 5 p.m.
“The 7-on-7 gives your quarterback and receivers the chance to work on timing and working together,” Young said. “It gives defensive backs and linebackers some work on defense, especially pass coverage.”
Seven-on-sevens are games in which seven football players play on each side of the ball. A normal tournament consists of pool and bracket play. Teams are seeded by how many wins they get in the pool-play portion of the tournament heading into the single-elimination portion.
