Leading up to Escambia County’s game last night, things weren’t going well.

Four Blue Devils quit, some starters missed practice and some were plagued with injuries.

The Blue Devils fell 52-0 to Thomasville in a road game.

In a loss such as this one, there may not have been many positives, however.

“We had two or in the first quarter to score,” ECHS head football coach Royce Young said. “We were moving the ball pretty well. I think they were up 6-0 at the end of the first quarter.

“After that, the wheels came off,” he said.

Young didn’t say which starters missed practice, but they did play in the game, only after not starting.

ECHS will host Carroll-Ozark next week.
