Escambia Academy lost to AISA Class 1A volleyball champion Edgewood 3-0 in the Elite 8 on Oct. 16 at Faulkner University in Montgomery.

The Lady Cougars fell 5-25, 7-25, 10-25 in the match. Edgewood went on to repeat its state championship with wins over Southern in the Final Four and Autauga Academy in the state championship.

Macon-East Academy won the Class 2A state championship over Glenwood.
