Escambia Academy’s boys basketball team climbed three spots in the most-recent Alabama Sports Writers Association’s AISA poll, which was released today.

The Cougars rose to No. 3 from last week’s No. 6 spot after defeating Clarke Prep 81-33 Tuesday night, 84-57 on Saturday night; and Russell Christian 91-47.

EA improves to 12-2 going into AISA Class 2A, Region 2 Tournament play this weekend. The Cougars start action on Friday.

Escambia County stayed at No. 5 in Class 4A after falling 67-64 to Monroe County on Tuesday night. The Blue Devils are 17-6, and play W.S. Neal tomorrow night in area action at home.
