Cougars to compete in state track, field meet

Escambia Academy’s boys will be vying for its fourth straight AISA track and field title tomorrow and Friday in Gulf Shores at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium.

The Cougars will embark on the end of a season where the worst they finished in a meet was in second place in Mississippi.

“It’s going to be tighter than last year,” EA coach Hugh Fountain said. “We’re going for the overall state championship.”

Fountain said Chase Bell and Fred Flavors are strong in the hurdling event, along with Jace Daniels on the long runs.
