Barbara Jean Wilson, 79, of Atmore, passed away June 23, 2019 in Atmore.

She was born to the late Frank and Bessie Jackson Kent on May 13, 1940 in Brewton.

She had worked for Chapman Ace Hardware, then after that, she was a preschool teacher for over 15 years.

She was a member of Atmore First Assembly of God, where she taught Sunday School and was very faithful to her shut-in ministry.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Margaret Kent.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Wilson of Atmore; two sons, Dale (Connie) Hollingsworth of Jacksonville and Shannon Charles (Tammy) Wilson of Brewton; two brothers, Ronnie Kent and Jerry (Gloria) Kent, both of Brewton; one sister, Bonnie (Jack) Shiver of Mobile; five grandchildren, Katelyn Wilson, Wade Mesker, John Mesker, Stephen Mesker, Stephanie Mesker; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be today, Wed., June 26, 2019, at 10 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Davis and Bro. Ricky Tedder officiating.

Interment will follow in Serenity Gardens Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are Rick Hetrick, Danny Guy, Webb Nall, Doug Waters, Wayne Harris and Earl Bodiford.

Family received friends June 25, 2019, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
