A finalist from “The Voice” will be making a special guest appearance at Destiny Worship Center’s 14th annual Stomp the Yard event this Sat., Oct. 5, from noon until 5 p.m., at Houston Avery Park.

Kirk J will be speaking and singing to the kids during the event, which is held each year to showcase the talents of youth in the community and surrounding areas with a God-inspired theme.

“This year’s annual Stomp the Yard theme is ‘Preparing our Future Leaders for Greatness,’” DWC’s Felicia Bishop said in an email. “Our objective is to encourage them and help direct them with a plan for their future endeavors. We will have local school board administrators to speak with them concerning their education and also community leaders and spiritual advisors that will help develop their spiritual purpose in life.”

Additionally, Kirk J will perform on stage along with local talented groups, the drama teams and praise dancers.

Additionally, Kirk will share his testimony and  speak to inspire youth that have had a disadvantaged start to dream big for a bigger and brighter future, Bishop said.

“We believe as the Stomp The Yard committee, anything is possible for our future leaders if they dream, plan, and work hard to realize it,” she said.

There will also be a train ride and water slide for the kids.
