Betty Wells, 88, of Byrneville, Fla., passed away on October 21, 2019, at her residence.

She was born in Canoe on July 18, 1931, to the late Marvin Ernest and Katie L. Davis Hall.

She was a secretary for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and was a church secretary at Calvary Assembly of God in Orlando, Fla. before retiring.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard “Dick” Wells; and sisters, Julia Johnson and Martez Rutherford.

Mrs. Wells enjoyed traveling, sightseeing, raising her tropical birds and gardening.

She is survived by her son, John Wells of Merritt Island, Fla.; three daughters, Elizabeth Wells of Wausau, Wisc., Anne (Tim) Jewett of Chuluota, Fla. and Leah (W.C.jr.) Sanders of Byrneville, Fla.; one brother, Jerry Hall of Century, Fla. and Jackie Brown of Bratt, Fla.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Graveside services will be this Friday October 25, 2019, at 2 p.m. in Godwin Cemetery in Bratt.

Active pallbearers are John Wells, Tim Jewett, Kirk Jewett, W.C. Sanders, Jr. and Jacky Helton.

Family will receive friends this Friday, October 25, 2019 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
