Blue Devils win season closer

Escambia County scored 24 unanswered points in the second half as the Blue Devils beat Francis Marion 24-16 on Nov. 1.

The Blue Devils trailed 16-0 at halftime, and mounted a good comeback.

Escambia County’s Jacob Hammac found Tyson Moore on a 26-yard touchdown pass with 1:10 left in the game to go ahead, all after a blocked field goal try by FM.

Earlier in the second half, Hammac ran it in for a touchdown, and converted the 2-point conversion.

The Blue Devils tied the game on a Travon Lambert blocked punt and touchdown.

Head football coach Scott Mason said Willie Banks and Trae Bradley had some good runs in the season closer.

Hammac threw more than 300 yards, the coach said.

The Blue Devils ended their season 5-5.
