Mr. Howard Dewitt McGhee Jr., born September 13, 1948, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2020 in Atmore. 

Mr. McGhee was a native of Atmore and lived most of his life in the Clarke and Escambia County, Ala. areas.

He was owner and operator of Dynamic Cleaning Co., was a member of the Poarch Creek Indians and the Amity Baptist Church of Clarke, County.

He is preceded in death by his father, Howard Dewitt McGhee Sr.; mother, Hattie Mae McGhee; grandparents, Dan and Lena McGhee, and Buck and Luna Mae McGhee; second wife, Nancy McGhee; sister, Becky Norman; and son, Jim Day.

He is survived by a wife of 14 years, Lila Overton McGhee of Frisco City; children, Lisa McGhee of Poarch, Joseph (J Ross) McGhee of Bay Minette, Malcolm “Bull” McGhee of Poarch, Michelle (Mark) White of Poarch, Jason (Kim) McGhee of Whatley, Chad McGhee of Whatley, John Day of Whatley, Angela Wall of Whatley, Amanda Rolin of Whatley and Jamie (Sabrina) McGhee of Whatley; step-children, Jennifer Flowers, Wayne (Pam) Flowers, Jeremy (Leslie) Flowers, Jesse (Heather) Flowers and Cecil (Mary) Hoven; siblings, Gary (Susie) McGhee of Atmore, Gordon McGhee of Poarch, Mary (Dean) Boyette of Atmore, Georgia Griffey of Poarch, William “Boone” (Kristie) McGhee of Poarch, Cyndi (Tony) Wright of Poarch, Juanita Slate of Poarch and Lena (Joe) White of Poarch; aunts, Marie Martin and Ellen Johnson; 32 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held January 7, 2020 at the McCullough Christian Center with Bro. Joe White officiating. 

Burial followed at the Judson Cemetery.

Visitation was held January 6, 2020 at the McCullough Christian Center.

Pallbearers were Greg McGhee, Kenny Williams, Scott Griffey, Bo Slate, James White, Justin Norman, Chris McGhee and Rowdy Boyette. 

Honorary Pallbeares will be Josh Hammac, Rodney McGhee, Nathan Martin, John O’Barr, Jack Allen McGhee and Dynamic Cleaning Crew. 

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC of Atmore was in charge of all arrangements.
