Mr. Charles Raymond Murph, Sr., 83, of Frisco City, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2020, at his home.

Mr. Murph was born in McCullough on April 13, 1937 and had been a resident of Monroe County since January of 1967.

He was a licensed radio, television, air conditioning and refrigeration repairman for over 60 years.

He owned and operated Murph’s Radio & TV Service in Frisco City for many years.

Mr. Murph is preceded in death by his parents, Clem Alto Murph and Effie Maude Grant Murph; and nine siblings.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Wicker Murph of Frisco City; his son, Charles Raymond “Chuck” Murph Jr. and wife, Terri of Excel; his daughter, Jan Murph Anderson and husband, Todd of Frisco City; his brother, Arvin J. Murph of Mobile; his sister, Eleanor Jean Murph Cumbie of Monroeville; four grandchildren, Britney Murph Sheffield, Jonathan Lee Taylor, Cy Murph and Ty Murph; and three great-grandchildren, Kendyle Sheffield, Erik Sheffield and Shepherd Taylor.

Funeral services were held on Friday, June 5, 2020 at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Forrest Weekley officiating. Burial followed in McCullough Cemetery in McCullough.

Visitation was held June 5, 2020 at the funeral home.
