Mr. John Clark Perkins, 85, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2020, at his home in Atmore.

Mr. Perkins was a native and lifelong resident of Atmore.

He retired from Monsanto, was a used car dealer, owned B&J Bait Shop, very loving and giving to his family and under privileged in our area.

He never met a stranger, enjoyed singing and was a jokester and a member of the Canoe (Methodist) Church.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Velma Marie Perkins; parents, John and Rosie Perkins; grandson, Thomas Guy Byrne IV; step-father, Shirley Hammac; and son-in-law, Thomas Guy Byrne III.

He is survived by one son, John Terrell (Melba Jean) Perkins of Northport; two daughters, Joanne Perkins (Larry M.) Bonds of Atmore and Janice Perkins Byrne of Stockton; two step-sons, Lane (Vernie) Mosley of Henderson, Tenn. and Brady Mosley of Century, Fla.; four step-daughters, Rose Anna (Ray) Smith of Camden, S.C., Enola (Dan) Godwin of Byrneville, Fla., Amy (Lanell) Welch of Flomaton and Myra (Joe) Reid of Byrneville; 10 grandchildren, Tina (Wes) Walby, Tiffany (Steven) Cierocke, Tierney (Jason) Broadwater, Christopher (Mary) Byrne, Nikki (Terry) Lile, Katherine Byrne, Lori (Wesley) Rider, Larry W. (Sherri) Bonds, Stevie (Dixie) Bonds and Josh Bonds; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held June 8, 2020 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Willie Armstrong and Rev. Larry Renfroe officiating.

Burial followed at the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation was held June 7, 2020 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Gage Mueller, Myrrick Walby, Chris Byrne, Nikki Lile, Tiffany Cierocke, Wesley Rider, Larry Wayne Bonds, B.J. Reid and Randal Bonds.

Honorary Pallbearers were Cary West, John B. Perkins Broadwater, Cooper Rider, Christopher Byrne, Jr., Lestyn Byrne, Jared Lile, Steven Bonds, Josh Bonds, Wes Walby, Terry Lile, Steven Cierocke, Jason Broadwater, Sharon Smith, Adrienne Winand and Covenant Care Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Covenant Care Hospice or Canoe (Methodist) Church at 155 S. Canoe Road, Atmore, AL 36502.

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC of Atmore was in charge of all arrangements.
