James Titus Turner, 81, of Atmore, passed away on Sept. 14, 2020 in Fairhope.
He was born on Feb. 22, 1939 in Jones County, Miss. to the late, Alvin Harrison and Callie Dickens Turner.
He attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and was a retired truck driver and parts salesman of the oil field industry.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Sheila Nix; his brothers, Willis Boone Turner, Alvin Lummos Turner, Rual Beech Turner and Thomas Ray Turner; and his sisters, Dorothy Dimple Smith and Celeste Imogene Shoemake.
He is survived by his wife of over 25 years, Dartha Grant Turner; his daughters, Samantha Turner of Jones County and Sandra Turner of Jones County; his stepdaughters, Jean Snodgrass and Thresa Tucker; brothers, Carl Winston Turner of Jones County and Wilson Letrell (Pansy) Turner of Jones County; his sisters, Alice Vernice Craft of Mobile, Virginia Vasti (Conrad) Robertson of Jones County, Diane Johnson and Susan Johnson; his grandchildren, John, Addie, Ty and Lee; special great-grandson, Jereme Tucker; many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
A funeral service was held on Sept. 19 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Beauchamp officiating. Interment followed at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Keith Craft, Mike Turner, David Scruggs, Randall Turner, Stan Robertson, Ken Robertson and Jonathan Turner.
Honorary pallbearers were Todd Bodiford, Dewayne Flowers, Perry Joe Buckhault and Andy Turner.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
