Escambia County ended its season Friday night, falling 37-0 to Flomaton on the road.

The Blue Devils trailed the Hurricanes (8-2) 34-0 at halftime. FHS knocked in a 28-yard field goal late in the third quarter.

ECHS head football coach Scott Mason said he had four players out all week, and the team brought 33 to Flomaton.

“We’re down to 33 kids and it shows,” Mason said. “It showed tonight. It was one of those years.”

Mason said the players played better in the second half, but there aren’t any excuses that need to be made.

“They whipped our tails,” he said. “They blew us off the ball. We just didn’t play well. It’s apples and oranges. My kids are going to grow up, and all of these teams better enjoy it right now.”
