Funeral services for Thelma Louise Baker will be held this Sat., Jan. 30, 2021.

Baker was born on July 7, 1950, in Stockton, to the late James Reese and Annie Mae (Stevens) Baker.

She was one of 13 children, departed this life at Saint Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Del., on Thurs., Jan. 7, 2021.

Baker was a 1968 graduate of Douglasville High School, where she was a member of the choir. She began her Christian experience at Zion Fountain A.M.E. Zion Church at an early age, where she served as an active choir member.

Baker moved to Wilmington in 1971. Her first employment was at Wiltex Textile/Bancroft Mills until the mill closed. She then gained employment at Christiana Health. Her final job was at Shipley Manor, where she was employed for 16 years.

She attended Ebenezer Baptist Church before joining Cornerstone Fellowship Baptist Church in 1996 with the Rev. Dr. Donald E. Dunnigan Sr. as her pastor.

Baker was preceded in death by two sisters, Ola Mae Means and Clara Mae Lamar; two brothers, James Edward Baker and Joe Nathan Baker; one sister in law, Connie Griffin Baker; and brother in law, Joseph Lamar.

She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Dustin Leon Collins, of Wilmington; three brothers, Daniel (Jacqueline) Baker, Don Baker and Anthony (JoAnne) Cox of Bay Minette; five sisters, Velma Smith and Annie (James) Williams of Stockton, Caroline (David) Crook of Akron, Ohio, Regina (Michael) Curry and Wanda (Tommie) Gandy of Bay Minette; one brother in law, Paris Means of Bay Minette; one sister in law, Joyce Baker of Monticello, N.Y.; one loving aunt, Ruth Stevens of Stockton; and many extended family members and friends.

Graveside services will be held at Robinson Cemetery in Stockton at 11 a.m. with the eulogy by Pastor Dembray Archie.
