Heavy rainfall anticipated over next couple of days

Escambia County EMA Director David Adams said today that the primary threat for the county over the next couple of days is anticipated to be heavy rainfall with the potential for flash flooding and possible creek and river flooding.
“There is still some threat of severe weather, mostly on Thursday,” Adams said.
According to the National Weather Service, there is a low end threat for an isolated severe storm today throguh Wednesday over the western portions of the area.
Between4-8 inches of rain is forecast with local amounts of up to 10 inches not being ruled out, especially along the coast.
Additionally, the Atmore area is under a flash flood watch through Thursday.
