NWE football program increases number of teams

The NWE football program is expanding.

NWE Football and Cheer officials announced May 18 that it’s expanding from a four football team program to an eight football team program.

The program will field two football teams in each age group – 5 to 6 years old (freshmen), 7 to 8 years old (sophomores), 9 to 10 years old (juniors) and 11 to 12 years old (seniors).

The maximum number of players per team is 25, and the deadline to register is June 10.

Cost is $125 for football, and $150 for cheer. June 1 is the deadline to register for cheer.

According to NWE Football and Cheer’s Facebook page, there are 17 spots available in the freshmen group; eight spots in the sophomore group; three spots in the junior group; and 16 spots in the senior group.
