Atmore family provides meal for ECHS football team today
The Nichols Family of Atmore provided a meal for the Escambia County High School football team today to kick off Gordon’s Giving at the school’s cafeteria.
The lunch was held in memory of Randy and Melissa Nichols’ son, Gordon, who passed away in a car crash some two years ago.
Last Thanksgiving, the Nichols, along with their daughter, Walton, held the first-ever Gordon’s Giving at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church on Thanksgiving Day for first responders. Melissa said that they will be holding another lunch this year.
“This is a way for us to kick off the giving season,” Melissa said to the players. “We wanted to do this for y’all as a part of giving back.”
Melissa said Gordon loved ECHS and playing for the Blue Devils team.
David’s Catfish of Atmore provided the meals for the players.
The football team normally has a pre-game meal on Fridays. ECHS visits Williamson tonight in Mobile.
