Pensacola, Fla. woman arrested on drug charges

A Pensacola, Fla. woman was arrested on drug charges Feb. 24, according to the Atmore Police Department.
Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release at approximately 9:30 a.m. last Friday, an APD officer observed a vehicle make an unsafe lane change and performed a traffic stop.
McMann said the officer contacted the driver, Karen Nelson, 52, of Pensacola. He added that during the interaction, the officer requested consent to search the vehicle.
McMann said during the search of the vehicle, the officer allegedly discovered an unspecified amount of a green leafy substance that field tested positive for marijuana; a white crystal-like substance that field tested for methamphetamine; and a wooden smoking pipe that had a white residue in it that field tested positive for meth.
Nelson was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana II.
Nelson was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
