EA boys win first home track, field meet; girls finish 2nd

Escambia Academy’s boys’ track and field team compiled 149 points to win their home meet March 8 in Canoe.
The girls finished second with 91 points.
Both squads put together good long distance finishes to notch their finishes at the top of the field.
EA athletes who finished in the top six of each event included:
- Girls high jump – Camille Nichols, third place; and Annalesia Thompson, fourth place
- Boys high jump – Cameran Bryan, fourth place
- Girls long jump – Tava Johnson, fifth place
- Girls shot put – Mary Ruth Dortch, fifth place
- Girls 100-meter hurdles – Kimorah Goldsmith, fifth place
- Boys 110-meter hurdles – Luke Bell, second place
- Boys triple jump – Bell, fourth place
- Girls discus throw – Dortch, sixth place
- Boys discus throw – Blake Hardy, fifth place
- Girls 4×200-meter relay – EA, fourth place
- Boys 4×200-meter relay – EA, third place
- Girls 4×800-meter relay – EA, first place
- Boys4x800-meter relay – EA, second place
- Boys 300-meter hurdles – Bell, first place; and Yadarius McNeal, second place
- Girls 1600-meter run – Paris Bennett, sixth place
- Boys 1600-meter run – Danny Doerr, first place
- Girls 4×100-meter relay – EA, third place
