Escambia Academy will kick off its cross country season at the Mobile Independent Challenge Cross Country Meet at Langan Park on Aug. 31.

The Cougars then will hold a meet at Bicentiennial Park in Stockton at 4 p.m. on Sept. 7.

The Stockton meet will be EA’s first time hosting a meet at the Baldwin County Bicentennial Park. The park sits on the 367-acre area in north Baldwin County, which was designated by the Baldwin County Commission during the county’s Bicentennial in 2009.
EA’s cross country and track programs will be led by coach Rider Jernigan.
“I am excited to coach the cross country and track programs here at EA,” Jernigan said. “It has been a dream of mine since I started running. I am also excited to see how God moves in and throughout the classroom every day. As always Go Cougars.”
EA’s remaining cross country season includes:

  • Sept 14 – Warrior Invitational at Eastwood Christian in Montgomery
  • Sept. 19 – Owl Invitational hosted by The Capital School in Tuscaloosa
  • Sept. 26 – Southern Prep Ranger Invitational at Camp Hill
  • Oct. 3 – Heritage Academy at Shadow Lakes in McCalla
  • Oct. 11 – AISA state championship in Auburn
