Northview’s Devin Kelly scored two touchdowns and Wyatt Scruggs and Joe Wright added one score each to help lead the Chiefs to a 28-0 victory over Baker, Fla. tonight.

Head football coach Wes Summerford said the boys played well, and had a lot of big plays, which were good to see.

“We got some different guys in there that we haven’t seen this season,” Summerford said. “That’ll help develop some depth.”

Summerford said the team is going to have to clean up some things from tonight’s game to get ready for Jay next week for homecoming.

“It’s really good to get back to our (old) region,” he said. “I’m excited about that. We’ve got to clean some stuff up from today’s game. It’s going to be good getting back in front of the home crowd. We want to put on a home show.”

Summerford said if NHS beats Jay next week, it’ll help get the team where it needs to be and for the playoffs.

“I’m proud of our guys,” he said. “They always find a way to keep fighting. They’ve been through some stuff this year, and have fought through some adversity.”
