McMann said the arrests stem after an APD investigator was parked in the parking lot of a business in the Rivercane area when a vehicle parked next to the investigator. This occurred at approximately 10:40 a.m. on Dec. 18.

“The investigator looked over at the vehicle and noticed the passenger, later identified as Carlock, holding a small plastic baggie containing a green leafy substance,” McMann said. “Carlock (allegedly) began removing the substance from the baggie and placing it in rolling paper (making a blunt).”

McMann said as the investigator observed Carlock rolling her marijuana cigarette, the driver, Reed, left the parking lot.

“The investigator then conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle,” he said. “A search of the vehicle and of Carlock and Reed produced over 5 grams of marijuana, 3 grams of methamphetamine, various items of drug paraphernalia and several smoked marijuana cigarettes (roaches). The marijuana and methamphetamine field tested positive.”

Both were then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
