An Atmore man was located and arrested by U.S. Marshals April 18 on several active felony warrants, according to officials.
Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Isaiah Finney, 22, had arrest warrants for discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, certain persons forbidden to possess firearms, attempting to elude a police officer and possession of marijuana II.
McMann said the alleged incidents occurred in Atmore in September and November 2023, after which, Finney left the Atmore area and was tracked by the U.S. Marshals as he made his way back here.
“Investigators developed Finney as the offender of an incident in which he discharged a firearm at an occupied vehicle and another incident in which he fled from a vehicle while officers were investigating a shots fired complaint,” McMann said. “Officers recovered firearms from the vehicle as well as other evidence.”
McMann added that Finney is also a suspect in other recent shootings that are current investigations and are awaiting the results of ballistic testing to determine if any charges are forthcoming.
Additionally, Finney received a new charge upon his arrest as he was in possession of a firearm. He was then transported the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
