MOUNT CRAWFORD – Craig Jerkins, 55, went to be with the Lord on Monday morning, April 1, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at his residence in Mount Crawford.

He was born on Nov. 2, 1957, in Alabama, son of the late Benjamin F. and Freida Noles Jerkins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Austin Glenn Jerkins.

Craig loved the outdoors, nature, and enjoyed canoeing and fishing. He enjoyed his work as a tower crane operator and traveling the country. He was devoted to his family and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his companion, Lynn McDorman; son, Shane Jerkins; daughters, Victoria Ansell, Candice Gale and Faith Riggleman; grandchildren, Sadie Jerkins and Daisy Ansell; siblings, Aubrey Terry Jerkins and his wife, Ethelina, Bruce E. Jerkins; and Deloris and her husband, Danny E. Presley and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m., Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at the Harrisonburg Chapel of Kyger Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m., by Pastor Kerry Willis.
