The Atmore Rotary Club honored about 150 of its brightest young students Thursday, during the club’s annual Academic All-Stars program.

The program was held at First Baptist Church of Atmore, and recognized the academic achievements of students from Escambia County High School, Escambia Academy, Atmore Christian School and Northview High School. In order to be named an Academic All-Star, a student had to maintain at least a B average in every subject for each grading period of the school year, as well as earn at least one A every grading period.

Those who were Academic All-Stars for every year of their high school career were recognized as special four-year All-Stars.

The four-year Academic All-Stars were: Travis Smith of Atmore Christian School; Abby Akins and Sarah Weatherford of Escambia Academy; Tristen Boothe, Annah Nichols and Matthew Quimby of Escambia County High School; and Kasie Braun, Anna Donald, Courtney Solari, Courtney Weaver and Victoria Wright of Northview High School.

Each senior received a $500 scholarship, and each four-year All-Star senior received a $750 scholarship. The club awarded more than $28,000 in scholarships.

Those who were recognized as Academic All-Stars were:

• Atmore Christian School — tenth grade, Madelyn Boatwright, Christopher Gehman, Ethan Heller and Nathan Jurjevich; 11th grade, Caleb Hostetler, Wesley Hostetler and Darren Landis; 12th grade, Durrell Martin and Travis Smith.

• Escambia Academy — ninth grade, Kallie Byrd, Brandon Durant, Jessica Franco, Eli Godwin, Paolo Gorme, Bailey Lancaster, Trae Lee, Morgann McDonald, Sarah Elizabeth McGill and Abby Smith; 10th grade, Noah Blue, Saige Garrett, Kennedy McGhee, Kajal Patel and Mikayla Spruill; 11th grade, Claire Dawe, Garrett Kirk, Natalie Lassiter, Auden Lassiter, Anna Catherine Sasser, Nate Smith and Lindsey Weatherford; 12th grade, Abby Akins, Tucker Boatwright, Grayson Emmons, Tristan McAnally, Peyton Snider, Sarah Weatherford and Allison Woods.
