Joseph Cleveland “Sonny” Fisher

Joseph Cleveland “Sonny” Fisher, 71, of Atmore, entered into the Army of The Lord on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, at his residence.

A native of Mobile and a resident of Atmore, he was a graduate of Escambia County Training School in 1960, and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Cleveland Fisher and Celeste Cole Fisher, and a brother, Fred Fisher.

Those left to embrace his life and legacy are, two daughters, one devoted, Bridget (Ledell Jr.) Johnson of Atmore and Cortellia (Sylvester) Pitts of Winter Haven, Fla.; three sons, Marcos Knight of Haines City, Fla., Carlton Robinson of Lake Wales, Fla. and Terry Rothchild of Tampa, Fla.; two sisters, Carolyn Fisher and Chrishanda McNeal, both of Atmore; three grandchildren, one devoted, Shakira Jones, one great-grandson and a best friend, Charles Daniels of Atmore.

Visitation with the family will be held Saturday, Aug. 30, from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. in Longmire-Jones Memorial Chapel of Turner Funeral Chapel. Graveside service with military honors will be held Saturday, Aug. 30, at 3 p.m. in the Fairview Cemetery with Bishop Wayne Johnson officiating and Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC, directing.
