Emily Greer Lockard

PLANTATION, Fla. -Emily Greer Lockard of Plantation, Fla. lost her battle with Alzehimers on Tuesday June 8, 2010 at the age of 78.

Lockard was born on April 10, 1933 to Murray and Emily Greer in Atmore.

Lockard was on married on July 14, 1962 to James Graham Lockard of Columbus, Ga. (deceased 2008).

She is a graduate of Escambia County High School in Atmore. She attended Huntingdon College in Montgomery, graduated from the University of Alabama, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and graduated from Auburn University with a Masters in early childhood education.

Lockard was a loving, nurturing mother, wife and teacher. She had a great love of children and sense of optimism that warmed all who knew her.

She is survived by her children Laura Lockard Schulhofer and Randy Schulhofer of Lakeland FL and Elizabeth Lockard Skillen and David Mark Skillen of Snellville, Ga., her sister Eloise Moore of Atmore, and four grand children Scott Schulhofer, Evan Schulhoffer, William Skillen and Emily Skillen.

Services will held at 2 pm Friday June 11, 2010 at Auburn United Methodist Church 137 S. Gay Street Auburn, AL 36831.
