Alabama started out flat against Arkansas during Saturday’s 27-14 win over the Razorbacks, but the Crimson Tide scored 17 unanswered points after halftime to help spark the victory.

According to reports, senior players stood up during the 20-minute break to address the team, telling the younger players, especially, to step up their game.

The Crimson Tide turned things around in the final 30 minutes by scoring essential touchdowns to put the game away.

This week, No. 10 Alabama, who dropped two spots in the AP poll after the win over Arkansas, will be facing a lethal Texas A&M football team in a top 10 show down. The Aggies are No. 9.

Offensively for Texas A&M, it all starts with quarterback Kyle Allen.

Allen has compiled 1,274 yards and is 89-of-139 in the air with 13 touchdowns this season. He’s completed 64 percent of his passes.

On the ground, Tra Carson has rushed for 450 yards on 95 carries and scored four touchdowns.

Allen’s favorite target is Christian Kirk, who has 32 receptions on 519 yards and four touchdowns.

Alabama’s Derrick Henry has 665 yards on 120 carries and has scored 10 touchdowns this year.

Other threats for the Crimson Tide include ArDarius Stewart and Calvin Ridley at the slot position.

O.J. Howard, a tight end, could have a good game for Alabama.

The game will be held at College Station, Texas, with a 2:30 p.m. CST kick off on CBS.

Auburn looks for needed win

Auburn will travel to face Kentucky in Lexington for a Thursday night show down after a bye.

The Tigers (3-2) have been trying to pick up the pieces and figure out what the next step is as they are hoping to get back on track this year.

Auburn dismissed Duke Williams recently, and is going to be looking to Ricardo Louis to fill in the gap on offense.

Defensively, the Tigers will need to regroup and figure out a way to stop the Wildcats’ offense with Patrick Towles and Stanley Williams leading the way on offense. Towles is averaging almost 231 yards per game and has recorded eight touchdowns.

The game will be televised on ESPN with a 6 p.m. kick off.

Troy to face Idaho for homecoming

It’s homecoming week for Troy as the Trojans host Idaho at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Leading the pack on offense for Troy is Brandon Burks.

Burks has acquired 405 yards on 88 carries and scored four touchdowns on the ground so far this season.

Both teams support the same record entering the contest at 1-4.

Quarterback Matt Linehan has compiled 1,109 yards and has thrown for five touchdowns.

Dezmon Epps is Linehan’s favorite target with 528 yards and two touchdowns to his name.
