EA squads bring home top awards from camp

Escambia Academy’s varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders brought home some new hardware from the AISA West Cheer Camp last week.

Both squads were crowned home pom champions. The junior varsity squad also won the Cheer Champions award, the Xtreme Routine championship and the Small Squad tate championship.

In varsity action, the squad raked in the Game Day Sideline championship, and finished fifth in Cheer and the Xtreme Routine.

Kallie Byrd, Bailey Lancaster and Tenethia Wheeler were named UCA All-Americans; Wheeler was named an AISA All-Star; Lancaster and Wheeler received the Pin-it-Forward award; and Lancaster and Wheeler were named UCA Staff candidates.

Additionally, the varsity squad were named traditions award winners.
