Elmer Otto Hyler Jr., 91, was called home to be with the Lord on Feb. 14, 2019.

He is now rejoicing in Heaven with beloved wife of 69 years, Ella Gene Hyler.

He was a World War II veteran. He retired from the Alabama Power Co. in 1990 after 40 years of service.

He was a devoted Christian, serving Christ by leading music and working with the youth in various churches. He also loved the beach place and shrimping with the family.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Left to cherish his memory are his four children (and spouses); seven grandchildren (and spouses); and eight great-grandchildren. Since 2009, he has lived at Little Sisters of the Poor in Mobile.

Graveside services were held Feb. 18, 2019, from Pine Rest Memorial Park, Foley.
