James Benjamin  “J.B.” Bethea

Mr. James Benjamin “J.B.” Bethea, 70, died on Sun., March 24, 2019 in Atmore.

He was a native of Knoxville, Tenn., and had resided in Atmore for most of his life. He was an avid trucker and racing fan, loved his family and was of the Baptist faith.

He is preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Delta Betha.

He is survived by his fiancée, Melanie Adams of Atmore; two sons, James (Windy) Bethea of Rockwell, N.C. and Jason Hicks of Mobile; two daughters, Tammy (Jamie) Porter of Southport, N.C. and Jennifer Bethea of Bridgeport; two brothers, Dewey Bethea of Atmore, and Thomas (Sue) Bethea of Ruskin, Fla.; one sister, Eunice Sutter of Pace, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held tomorrow, Thurs., March 28, from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home. Bro. Randall Short will officiate at the services.

Burial will follow at Canoe Methodist Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be Jason Macks, James Allen Bethea, Bryan Covington, Kenny Higdon, Michael Adams and Jimmy Johnson.
