The Alto Products Cardinals were able to get the better of The Atmore Advance Athletics in Cal Ripken T-ball action Monday night at Tom Byrne Park.

The Cardinals were able to take the lead in their first at-bat and control the game throughout the contest.

In the top of the first, the Cardinals took the lead 6-0 with their first six batters coming across the plate to score as Braden Woods, Macy Edwards, Ty Robinson, Sarah Hartley, Ty McGhee and Kayne Hooks all scored.

The Athletics were able to cut their opponent’s lead to three runs in the bottom of the inning with Luke Godwin, Ethan Prestridge and D.J. Nichols coming home.

The Cardinals extended their lead in the second inning with six more runs scoring as Dee Brown, Woods, Edwards, Robinson, Hartley and Hooks each made it around the base path.

The Athletics were unable to put a dent in the Cardinals’ lead in the bottom of the inning with only Judson Lee and Xzavier Brown being the only runners to cross the plate.

The Cardinals put four more runs on the scoreboard in the top of the third as Brown, Woods, Edwards and Robinson all touched home plate to put their team ahead 16-5.

In the bottom of the third, the A’s scored their final two runs with Prestridge and Nichols getting hits and scoring runs to pull their team within nine runs.

The Cardinals were able to put the game away in the fourth inning scoring two more runs with Hooks and Gabe Crawford coming across the plate to put their team up 18-7 and they followed up with strong defense holding the A’s to no runs to end the game.

In a battle of Cal Ripken T-ball teams, the Atmore Utilities Blue Flames beat the Tri-Co Electric Shockers 20-12 on Monday night at Tom Byrne Park.

The Blue Flames opened the game with six runs as Kole Stewart, Kayley Cotton, Antonio Brown, Jake Cokers, Ayden Bonner and Sarah Bailey all scored.

The Shockers responded to tie the game in the bottom of the first with James McElhaney, Will Smith, Brodie Phillips, Christopher Johnson, Charles Weaver and Tyler Ragan all scoring runs.

In the second inning, the Blue Flames lit up the scoreboard again with Steart, Tuari McGhee, T.J. Pettway, Coker and Bonner all scoring.

The Shockers tied the game again in their turn at the plate with Brandilyn Williams, Smith, Phillips, Johnson and Exavion Bradley each touching home plate.

With the score knotted at 11, the Blue Flames took the lead with six runs coming across the plate as Stewart, McGhee, Cotton, Pettway, Coker and Bonner all scored.

Trailing 17-11, the Shockers were unable to score any runs in the bottom of the third leaving them with a mountain to climb.

The Blue Flames took advantage of their lead to add on three more runs in their final at-bat with Duke Pettway, Alana Shelley and Anthony McCants all crossing home plate.

In the bottom of the fourth, the Shockers could only get one run across as Smith score his third run of the game, but the Shockers fell 20-12.
