Foxworth accounted for several of the team’s multiple touchdowns.

Meanwhile, the big story for the Chiefs is the return of star player Neiko Robinson. Robinson was initially suspended for a total of six games. Northview High School never denied any wrongdoing, but thought the penalty excessive. Their appeal was granted and Robinson will return after serving a four-game suspension.

“It’ll definitely help our team,” head coach Sid Wheatley said. “He’s a playmaker.”

Wheatley went on to talk about how Robinson’s main qualities include energy and passion, qualities all coaches look for and something

Wheatley want to see more of from his team.

Wheatley was happen with the progress he’s seen out of the passing game on the offensive side of the ball.

“That’s one thing that’s come along for us,” Wheatley said, after the team’s 34-7 win over South Walton. “We’ve been getting more reps. I thought our offensive line did well.”

Wheatley also saw improvement out of his defense, and with Robinson’s return the unit should be even stronger following last week’s performance.

“The defensive front played better,” Wheatley said on Friday night. “I think Roderick had 22 tackles last week. He’s a leader.”

Northview lost to Gulf Breeze in last year’s meeting by a score of 49-14.

Northview plays Gulf Breeze Friday, Sept. 28 in Pensacola with kickoff at 7 p.m.

Escambia Academy will host the Pike Liberal Arts Patriots in Canoe this week. Both teams are 2-3 overall. The game holds importance because it is a regional game and there are playoff implications involved.

Pike Liberal Arts is led by head coach Wayne Grant, who is in his first year as head coach at the school. So far this season the Patriots are 0-1 in regional play. The team started the season out with a 38-8 blowout loss to Morgan Academy, the same team the Cougars beat last week by a score of 34-6.

Following the Cougars victory, head coach Hugh Fountain had praise for his team, especially the defense.

“We’re real proud of them tonight,” Fountain said. “I was really proud of our defensive effort because it was really the best defense we’ve had all year.”

Pike Liberal Arts is coming off a 28-7 win over Macon-East Academy. The two teams did not play each other last season.
Escambia Academy will play Pike Liberal Arts on Friday, Sept. 28 at Bachelor Field with kickoff at 7 p.m.

The Escambia County Blue Devils will host the Faith Academy Rams this week.

The Rams are led by head coach Rusty Mason in his first year as head coach at Faith Academy. The Rams had a difficult 1-9 season last year.

Both teams are coming off difficult losses to teams ranked number five in the ASWA high school football poll. The Rams lost 48-14 to the 5A classification’s number five-ranked team Spanish Fort.

Meanwhile, the Blue Devils traveled to Mobile and lost to UMS-Wright 50-15. Despite the loss, the team had a strong showing, as they had a 7-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Bulldogs are the number five-ranked team in the 4A classification.

Overall, Faith Academy enters the game with a 2-2 record, while the Blue Devils are 1-3. Escambia County won last year’s game by a score of 27-21.
