Atmore T-Ball opened its season on Saturday with five teams taking the field to begin a battle for a championship.

The Tri-Co Electric Shockers defeated The Atmore Advance Athletics in the final inning of their match up winning 14-13 on Monday night.

The Athletics took to the plate first and were able to take the lead 1-0 with X’Zaviar Brown crossing the plate.

The Shockers answered back in the bottom of the first with three runs of their own as Chris Johnson, James McElhaney and Will Smith all scored.

In the top of the second, the Athletics jumped back in front 5-3 with a four-run inning as Charlie Sasser, JB Bellew, Ryan Odom and Kay-Leigh Jay all scored runs.

The lead changed hands again in the bottom of the inning as Tra King, Trenton Smith, Johnson, James McElhaney, Smith and Exavair Bradley all scored putting the Shockers ahead 9-5.

The Athletics took advantage of their turn at the plate in the top of the third as they scored the inning limit eight runs with Luke Godwin, Brown, Forrest Jones, DJ Nichols, Ethan Prestridge, Judson Lee, Sasser and Bellew scoring runs to put the A’s back on top 13-9.

Trailing by four runs, the Shockers made their final trip to the plate count as Charles Weaver, Maveree McElhaney, King, Smith and Johnson all scored to give the Shockers the 14-13 win.

In the final game of opening day for Atmore T-Ball, the Alto Products Cardinals beat The Atmore Advance Athletics 13-8 on Saturday at Tom Byrne Park.

The Cardinals opened the game with five runs as Macy Edwards, Braden Woods, Nana Staples, Kayne Hooks and Ty Robinson all scored.

Trailing 5-0, the Athletics cut the lead in the bottom of the first with Forrest Jones, Xzavier Brown and DJ Nichols scoring to put the score at 5-3.

Five more runs in the top of the second helped the Cardinals extend their lead to seven runs with Edwards, Woods, Staples, Hooks and Sarah Hartley each crossing home plate.

After holding the A’s to zero runs in the bottom of the inning, the Cardinals scored three final runs with Jamison McGhee, Dee Brown, and Allie Brantley to give their team a 13-3 lead.

The Athletics made a push for a comeback in the bottom of the third, but could only get five runs as Luke Godwin, Jones, Brown, Nichols and Ethan Prestridge each scored, but the Cardinals came away with the win 13-8.

The Cornerstone Nailers won their opening day game by defeating the Tri-Co Electric Shockers 21-4 at Tom Byrne Park on Saturday.

The Nailers opened the game strong scoring an inning limit eight runs with Michael French, Garrett Harper, Zack Allen, Tater King, Brody Black, Carmelo Turner, Drew Albritton and Ty McCants all scoring.

The Shockers responded with three runs in the bottom of the first to cut the deficit to five runs with Will Smith, Brodie Phillips and Tyler Regan crossing the plate.

The Nailers extended their lead in the top of the second with seven runs as Ciara Crenshaw, French, Harper, Allen, Black, Tuner and Albritton making it around the bases.

The Shockers were held scoreless in the bottom of the inning and the Nailers picked up where they left off in the top of the third as they scored six runs with Dagarria McKraken, Freneh, Harper, Allen, King and Black all scoring to give their team a 21-3 lead.

The Shockers were able to add one run in the bottom of the inning with James McElhaney being the lone run to score to end the game at 21-4.

Blue Flames 12

The Alto Products Cardinals and the Atmore Utilities Board Blue Flames kicked off the Atmore T-Ball season with a close game as the Cardinals won 13-12 in the final inning.

The Blue Flames opened the game with five runs as Kole Stewart, Kayley Cotton, T.J. Pettway, Antonio Brown and Anthony McCants all scored runs.

Trailing 5-0, the Cardinals bounced back in the bottom of the inning with seven runs of their own as Braden Woods, Ty Robinson, Sarah Hartley, Tyler McGhee, Gabe Crawford and Kayne Hooks each crossed the plate.

In the second inning, the Blue Flames scored three more runs as Ja’Derius Pettway, Stewart, Cotton and Pettway each made their way around to home plate putting their team ahead 9-7.

The Cardinals responded by scoring five runs to take the lead 12-9 with Allie Brantley, Macy Edwards, Woods, Dee Brown and Robinson all scoring.

The Blue Flames scored three runs in the top of the third as Jake Coker, Ayden Bonner and Nya Tucker all scored to tie the game at 12.

In the bottom of the inning, the Cardinals ended the game with Hooks scoring the winning run.
