ECHS defense too strong for Frisco City

Riding the strong play of their defense, the Escambia County Blue Devils rolled to a 61-36 win over Frisco City in Atmore Friday.
ECHS forced 34 turnovers in the game, outrebounded the Whippets 33-25 and had 20 more field goal attempts for the game.
Terrence McNeil paced the Blue Devils with 20 points and nine rebounds, while Barrett Finney added 12 points and Terrell McNeil had eight points and seven rebounds.
Also scoring for ECHS were Damien Robinson, Ricky Craft, Jonathan Brown and Levia Hubert with four points each; Billy Pettway and Anthony McCants with two each; and Michael Baldwin with one.
ECHS, which was scheduled to face Northview on Tuesday, improved to 5-1 with the win. The Blue Devils will travel to Citronelle Friday for their first area contest of the year.
After suffereing their first loss of the season last week against Hillcrest-Evergreen, the Escambia County High School junior varsity boys responded with a 38-22 victory over Frisco City Friday.
Jeremy Forney led a balanced offensive outing with eight points for ECHS, while Kenneth Clark and Mark Rodgers had six each.
Also scoring were Layton Knight and Jerame Conn with four points each and Terrance Hazley, Adam Young, Katral Johnson, Theotis Jones and Earl Dailey with two each.
ECHS improved to 6-1 with the win.
