Atmore drug raid nets arrests

Fifteen people were rounded up Friday as the 21st Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force closed out a 12-month undercover operation.
A total of 41 suspects were charged, according to a statement from the Task Force. By late Friday afternoon, 15 had been arrested and transported to the Escambia County Jail. Additional arrests were expected throughout the weekend and into next week.
The Escambia County Grand Jury returned 39 indictments on 21 suspects in the Atmore area.
In addition to the Grand Jury indictments, the Atmore Municipal Court charged 20 additional suspects on misdemeanor drug charges.
Although the majority of the cases made involved possession and distribution of crack cocaine, three were not drug-related.
Arrested on drug charges were:
n John Craft, Atmore, possession of a controlled substance, crack cocaine; distribution of a controlled substance, crack cocaine; possession of marijuana, first degree.
n Bobby Allen Gray, Atmore, possession of drug paraphernalia.
n Jeffery Montgomery, Atmore, possession of a controlled substance, crack cocaine; distribution of a controlled substance, crack cocaine.
n Ashford Rivers, Atmore, possession of a controlled substance, crack cocaine; distribution of a controlled substance, crack cocaine.
n Antwon Rollins, Atmore, possession of a controlled substance, crack cocaine; distribution of a controlled substance, crack cocaine.
n Chris Brown, Atmore, possession of marijuana, first degree.
n David Hudson, possession of marijuana, second degree.
n Calvin McNeal, Atmore, possession of a controlled substance, crack cocaine; distribution of a controlled substance, crack cocaine.
n Kendreall Finklea, Atmore, possession of a controlled substance, crack cocaine; distribution of a controlled substance, crack cocaine.
n James Allen Burklund, Atmore, trafficking in marijuana.
n Monroe Flowers, Atmore, possession of a controlled substance, crack cocaine; distribution of a controlled substance, crack cocaine.
n Rob Lee, Atmore, possession of a controlled substance, crack cocaine.
Arrested on other charges were:
n Wiley Coley, Atmore, failure to appear traffic charges.
n Sennie Banks, Atmore, violation of probation.
n Robert Thomas, Atmore, theft of property, first degree.
Agencies involved in the investigation and assisting the Task Force in the round-up include the Atmore Police Department; Poarch Tribal Police; Escambia County Sheriff's Department; Escambia County District Attorney's office; the 1st Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force, Jackson, Ala.; the Baldwin County Sheriff's Department; and the Brewton Police Department.
