The Atmore Rotary Club is tuning up for the official 21st annual South Alabama Fiddlers' Convention.
The event will be held this Saturday evening at 5 p.m. at the Escambia County High School auditorium.
According to Hackman, the Fiddlers' Convention supports the Rotary Academic All-Star program.
Hackman said the All-Star program is a year-round effort.
Hackman mentioned that the support given by corporate sponsors, who advertise in the Fiddlers' Convention program, helps fund the All-Star scholarship program. This year the Atmore Rotary Club awarded approximately $15,000 in scholarships to local students including recognition of 171 All-Stars.
The programs will be sold for $1 the night of the event. Each program will be numbered and a drawing will award a lucky attendee $100.
In addition to the musical entertainment, there will be barbecue sandwiches, hamburgers, hotdogs, homemade cake and drinks for sale at the event.
Participants in the Fiddlers' Convention will compete in several different categories. Winners will be awarded cash prizes.
Admission to the Fiddlers' Convention is $5.
