Mr. Auvie Ellis Courtney, 79, died Saturday, August 5, 2000 in Pensacola.
He was a lifelong resident of Atmore, a member of Church of Christ and a retired owner/operator for Courtney's Gulf Service Station for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen D. and Hester Leona Courtney, three brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Courtney is survived by several relatives and friends; first cousin Dianne Deville and good friend and fishing buddy, Robbins White.
Graveside services were held Saturday, August 12 at 10 a.m. at Godwin Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Dickerson officiating.
Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
