Mrs. Mary Wood Ward, 84, a native of Atmore, Ala. and a resident of Gulf Shores, Ala. died Tuesday, August 15, 2000, at her home.
She was a retired teacher with Escambia County, Florida and Alabama school systems. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Atmore for 45 years.
Mrs. Ward is survived by two sons, William D. "Bo" Ward of Orlando, Fla. and John Thomas Ward of Gulf Shores; one brother, George Wood, Sr. of Selma; one sister, Steve Brown of Jacksonville, Fla. and one grandchild, William Cody Ward of Gulf Shores.
Graveside services were held Saturday, August 19, 2000, at 11 a.m. from Oak Hill Cemetery with Pastor Wesley Channell officiating. A memorial service was held Saturday, August 19, 1000 at 12 from the Atmore Presbyterian Church.
Active pallbearers were Joe Wood, Tim Wood, Mike Wood, George Wood and Kenneth Cunningham.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, INC. was in charge of arrangements.
